Pericardial mesothelioma, on the other hand, occurs in the heart. It can be found deep inside the heart muscle and can cause problems such as irregular heartbeat and breathlessness. This is a less serious form of mesothelioma and generally responds to treatment faster. In both cases, there is a high probability of recovery from these cancers. However, in the case of mesothelioma that spreads outside the body, it may cause permanent lung damage and cancer that can spread to other parts of the body. In this case, it’s necessary to have the entire affected area of the body removed. To remove it, doctors use a technique called autoclaving.
